Your day starts with a 1.5 to 2 hour walking tour through the beautiful medieval city of Oxford, home to the oldest university in the UK. Take a walk through Oxford “Past and Present”, exploring the cobbled streets of the old walled city.
Visit one of the oldest colleges of the University, Christopher Wren’s Sheldonian Theatre, the Bodleian Library, Radcliffe Square and the Radcliffe Camera. Stroll along the High Street and see how Oxford has managed to weave a modern shopping area through buildings, which span over 800 years of history.
Finish the tour with a walk through Oxford’s Victorian Covered Market.
After lunch in a café or restaurant of your choice (£15 allowance) we set off for the charming Oxfordshire town of Woodstock and Blenheim Palace.
Blenheim Palace has been the home of the Dukes of Marlborough since the 18th century and was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill in 1874.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a venue for many different events as well as being a popular film location. Visit the exquisite State Rooms on your guided tour and enjoy free time to wander around the glorious formal and informal gardens.
After your visit to the Palace, you have time for a quick look around the town of Woodstock with its delightful art galleries, antiques shops and boutiques.
Once sunset draws down you will be driven directly back to your accommodation in London.
